Chapter Programs

Alpha Beta Lambda Omega Chapter's first year was an active one. Since its inception, Alpha Beta Lambda Omega has proven to be an extraordinary community partner in the Brookhaven, Chamblee, Doraville and Dunwoody communities as well as a trailblazer within the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. In December 2022, we launched one of our chapter’s Signature Campaigns - a clothing drive to divert used clothing from landfills and assisted women with dressing for success.

In addition, Alpha Beta Lambda Omega has been fighting childhood hunger through our CHIPP Program, watching the brilliant minds of our next generation blossom with our Youth Leadership Institute, focusing on mental health awareness and being attentive to our seniors. Our chapter became official partners with the Chamblee Boys and Girls Club. Our members continue to focus on providing "service to all mankind" by highlighting and supporting our women entrepreneurs, including our members. Additional examples of volunteering and providing services included hosting clothing drives, tree planting days, National DEA Prescription Take Back Day, and a community-wide shredding day through various partnerships and uplifting our communities.

 Strengthen Our Sisterhood

Alpha Beta Lambda Omega has leveled up the meaning of service through sisterhood.

Sisterhood is at the core of all we do and we take care to protect and nurture this special sisterhood. Centered around the chapter’s sorority houses: Alpha, Beta, Lambda, and Omega, we insert intentionality in all we do. From regular sorority house challenges, Pearl Pals, and First Fridays, to name a few, we strengthen our bonds through team building, sisterly acts of kindness, and our service to the community.

Empower Our Families

Family is everything! It is critical that the youngest members of our families have what they need to grow and succeed. Alpha Beta Lambda Omega Chapter is excited about the partnerships we have established in the communities of North DeKalb County Georgia.

Through our partnership with John Lewis Elementary Elementary School in Brookhaven, we launched the sorority’s Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (CHIPP™) program . We are on a mission to ensure that all children within our communities have access to healthy meals on days they are not in school during the school year. Our Youth Leadership Institute (AKA YLI) with the Chamblee Boys and Girls Club instills a foundation of leadership as these youths embark on a journey of exploration and discovery with purpose.

Build Our Economic Wealth

Creating opportunities for sustainable, personal, and community wealth is a priority for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Through the Build Our Economic Wealth initiative, Alpha Beta Lambda Omega has been promoting and supporting our local businesses. We are continuing to strategize ways to equip our communities to take advantage of revenue-generating opportunities. From monthly financial challenges to supporting our own women entrepreneur chapter members, to buying black, our chapter is committed to celebrating and recognizing the value and impact of our dollars in our communities.

Enhance Our Environment

We’ve inherited the world’s most precious resources and it is our duty to do what we can to protect it and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. has launched an ambitious effort to reduce more risks to the environment through a number of activities. Alpha Beta Lambda Omega Chapter has launched the chapter’s first Signature Campaign, A Clothing Drive for Change.  This campaign was created with the goal of diverting clothing from landfills and donating them to organizations focused on outfitting women that are looking to take their lives to the next level. Our Chapter, in partnership with the Chamblee High School Beta Club and the Campus Beautification Committee, has also launched an effort to plant trees on their campus and we’ve partnered with DeKalb County District 1 Commissioner Robert Patrick to provide a community wide paper shredding event and can food drive.  Many more activities are being planned with local partners and we can’t wait to share them with you!

Uplift Our Local Community

Building strong community partnerships are an integral part of our livelihood!  To date, we have formed numerous partnerships within the communities of Brookhaven, Chamblee, Doraville and Dunwoody. Through such partnerships, we are able to work hand in hand with those who are in consistent and direct contact with those who are in their prospective communities.  These relationships are crucial to us as a chapter being able to do our part to meet the concerns and needs in our communities.  Alpha Beta Lambda Omega continues to be committed to making a global impact through local change.
