President's Welcome

On behalf of the phenomenal members of the Alpha Beta Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, I am truly honored to welcome you to our official website. We encourage you to learn more about our chapter and the many impactful service projects in Brookhaven, Chamblee, Doraville, and Dunwoody communities. Chartered on May 15, 2022, we are growing by leaps and bounds. Over 60 members strong, we are committed to providing service to the community while growing in sisterly love for each other. We are ecstatic about the many partnerships we have formed in the course of one year: Lynwood Day, John Lewis Elementary, Woodward Elementary, and Chamblee Boys and Girls Club are just a few of these partnerships.

Our sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, was founded in 1908 as the first sorority established by college-educated African American women. Under the leadership of our 31st International President and CEO, Danette Anthony Reed, our 2022-2026 International Program Initiatives are aptly themed, “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood.”  This administration has six initiatives. Strengthen Our Sisterhood will serve as the administration’s “Foundation Initiative” as we strengthen our bonds to support our service mission.
